The spring running season has started. My first half marathon of this year and I can not run it. I could not run at all. Not today; not for a couple weeks. At least that is the amount of time I will rest my legs for; two weeks. After that, I'm hoping to be back in business.
As for this first team run, it was fairly mellow. I met some new people and that was it. Nothing exciting. No one stood out. I offered one of my mentees a ride to our team location and back. I thought this was a good way to meet and get to know my mentees. A small group of us (about 15) went out for brunch at The Baywatch restaurant on Lombard. That was mellow. We chatted and got to know one another and that was that. Nothing grandious and exciting. Pretty dull, actually. And I thought, so this is what Chris does with his teammates and I really didn't have anything to worry about. Well, nearly nothing. Oh, well. This is my new social life.
