Past the initial "meet and greet" stage several weeks ago with Mr. "are you a geek too" guy, he dropped me when I wasn't too receptive to his "geekiness".
So, why am I bothering? He doesn't fit the usual "type" I'm attracted to. Physically, he lacks hair on his head, lanky yet slouches a lot, chews his nails (nervous twitch), older than I'm used to dating (8 years my senior) and looks his age, and he seems socially inept but complains about not finding anyone to date despite his busy schedule.

He is quite the intellectual. A master's in Mathematics, taught college math, hosts BANG (bay area night game scavenger hunts involving logistics), CTO for a sports startup, and owns two online shopping sites (bikes and golf). He has traveled around the world, is very independent, responsible, goal-oriented, well rounded with many interests (plays tuba), participates in competitve scrabble, and is very fit (an Ironman triathlete and a former SF tennis champ). All good qualities. In a nutshell, a hidden gem. So far... He could be a nut case, too.
