Ok, maybe not all real estate agents are evil but the ones that my brother and I have come across seem to have conniving and manipulative personality traits.
My house, which has been on the market for nearly a month, finally received some interest this past weekend now that the sun has come out from hiding. Two offers, one pushy agent, one desperate contractor, one large family (how they can all live in a 3/1 home is beyond me), and one, "slower than molasses" couple who wants to place a bid but doesn't even have an agent nor a pre-loan qualifcation. Welcome to the housing market in the East Bay.
This isn't San Francisco but these agents out here know how to play the game. With the exception of the pushy agent who thinks I'm desperate to sell my home. I'm not in any hurry, but the potential buyer's wife is pregnant, they sold their home and the contractor is on a time crunch. Not my problem. Yet, none of these agents get it. Since when am I obligated to accept the asking price? I'm not. Somehow, the communication barrier was blocked and understanding and rational was thrown out the window a while ago.
Two bids on the house. My brother's upping the ante. Time to play the real estate game... Oh, this will be fun.
