I had a downer morning today but I'm better now. I will be so glad to return home tomorrow. I am sick of the smoke and the crowds and tired of walking around all day.
I am glad that I stayed at the Venetian though. I am right next to the Sands Expo Center where the AVN Adult Entertainment show as well as a portion of CES is held. Yes, the porn industry has their conventions also and they always coincide w/ CES. Why? Well, it makes sense since CES is high in testosterone and there's money in technology which carries right over to the adult video and internet porn world.
And it seems as though a good number of porn stars are staying on my hotel floor. I am amazed at these silicone women. Most look very good but the "pimps" they are with, don't. Overweight and short and just plain fugly pretty much describes the men in the porn industry. Sure, there are a select few male porn stars that deserved my attentive stares but the majority, no. Then you have the geeks and techies and married sales men in suits all gawking at the women in barely there midriffs and short shorts as though they have never seen a woman before. I have to laugh.
Oh, the Google keynote which I watched on television over a live satallite feed in the "overflowed capacity" tent in the Central Plaza, was disappointing. I felt like I was watching an informercial and Larry Page is not a lively public speaker. His speech was dull and their announcements, convergence of tech devices for the future, merging of AIM and Talk Mail (Google's version of IM), the Google software pack (a bunch of free software bundled onto their download site), and their video store (competition for Apple's Itunes media) was lacking in punch. I expected something a little more spectacular from the company. Guess I'm not buying their stock but I think I might sell my Microsoft stock. Google's giving Gates a run for his money.
